The Brentanohaus

The Brentanohaus

On leaving the formerly more modest residential area of Frauengasse, you stand directly next to the most beautiful secular building of the town, the Brentano House. The trading company Brentano-Monticelli & Co., who primarily traded linen items woven in Günzburg and the surrounding area, had this residential and business house built in 1750. At the thoroughfare (today the entrance) there is a feeling of the size of the former carts. The head of Mercury (God of tradesmen) is a 20th century addition, but fits well with the former feeling of the house.
